A woman is suing over a slip and fall incident that occurred outside a suburban retail store.

Jacqueline Wilner filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The TJX Companies Inc., Intercontinental Management Group Inc. and U.S. Reif Park Place Illinois LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Wilner sustained serious injuries on Feb. 11, 2012, when she slipped and fell on an accumulation of snow and ice near the entrance of the TJ Maxx retail store at 1311 N. Rand Road in Palatine.

She accuses the defendants of acting negligently by causing an unnatural accumulation of ice and snow near the walkway of the entrance, failing to safely remove snow from the walkway, failing to warn and allowing ice, water or snow to remain near the walkway.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Susan E. Loggans & Associates P.C.
