Land of Lincoln Health re-ups with University of Chicago, asks court to dismiss class action alleging it misled customers

On the heels of announcing it had resumed covering patients seeking health care through University of Chicago Medicine, Land of Lincoln Health has asked a Cook County judge to dismiss a class action lawsuit brought by two of its former customers who alleged the provider of Obamacare health insurance policies had misled people into buying policies under false premises.

Two Chicago men have slapped a troubled provider of Obamacare health insurance policies with a class action lawsuit, alleging Land of Lincoln Health misled them into purchasing health plans on the belief the plans would include coverage for procedures at University of Chicago Medicine, even though Land of Lincoln allegedly knew the plans would not.

CVS overcharging customers with insurance for prescription drugs, federal lawsuit says

Already facing a class action over the price of generic drugs in San Francisco federal court, retail pharmacy giant CVS has again become the target of a similar complaint in federal court in Chicago. Robert Podgorny and Kevin P. Cauley are accusing the Rhode Island-based pharmacy chain of consumer fraud. They seek certification as a class, a jury trial, damages and injunctive relief. The complaint, filed Sept. 17, pinpoints the issue to November 2008, when CVS created its Health Savings Pass.
