Tamekia Johnson is suing Amal Agarwal D.O. Ltd., Midway Emergency Physicians LLC, ApolloMD Inc., Waukegan Illinois Hospital Co. LLC, Waukegan Hospital Corp., Vista Imaging Associates S.C. and Steven Nydick MD, for allegedly failing to diagnose a condition which left her blind.

In her lawsuit, filed on Oct. 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court, Johnson says she was treated by the defendants numerous times and they failed to diagnose her sinus thrombosis.

Johnson claims Dr. Agarwal failed to properly conduct and document her complete medical history and improperly released her. According to Johnson, Agarwal's medical negligence delayed her diagnosis, which caused her to become permanently blind in both eyes.

Johnson is also suing Dr. Nydick for failing to appreciate the change in Johnson's CT scans or to recommend additional studies which could have helped in a timely diagnosis of her sinus thrombosis.

In addition, Johnson is suing the hospitals and the doctors which were involved in the alleged delay of her diagnosis.

Johnson is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. She is being represented by Salvi, Schostok and Pritchard P.C.
