Three doctors, hospital named in negligence lawsuit

Mary McChristion, as special administator of the estate of Jimmy McChristion, filed suit in the Cook County Circuit Court on Oct. 11 against Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Dr. James Richardson, Dr. David Ellens and Dr. Lance Wallace as defendants.

McChristion's suit stems from the medical treatment Jimmy received at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.

According to McChristion, Jimmy was evaluated by Dr. Richardson on Oct. 22, 2011, and then by Dr. Wallace and Dr. Ellens on Oct. 23. She claims the three doctors failed to diagnose and treat Jimmy for sepsis. A

Allegedly, Jimmy was discharged from Advocate on Oct. 24, and two days later he died of sepsis. McChristion is suing the three doctors and Advocate Hospital for negligently treating and discharging Jimmy.

McChristion is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented by Chicago attorney Dean J. Caras.
