Clergyman accused of sexually abusing multiple children

Denny

Boycee Allen, Tony Avila, John Holman, Eugene Lambert and Prencen Rayford filed a lawsuit Oct. 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court, accusing Gordon McLean of sexually abusing them when they were minors.

McLean, the suit states, was affiliated with The Christ Church of Oak Brook, and given access to youths in jail as a chaplain with the Cook County Sheriff's office.

According to the complaint, the children would call McLean and he would pick them up and take them to his apartment where sexual acts were allegedly performed in return for money or penance.

McLean also allegedly used the same children he was abusing in his television, radio or public appearances where they would give testimonials relating to how Jesus changed their lives.

The plaintiffs now seek to hold McLean liable for the alleged abuse.

They are seeking more than $50,000 in damages and are being represented by Chicago attorney Steven A. Denny.
