Gladys Shabangu filed suit against Burger King Corp. Oct. 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court on Oct. 30, claiming she choked on a bone left in the fast food chain's fish sandwich.

According to Shabangu, she was at the Burger King at 6350 S. Cicero Ave. in Chicago in December of 2011, when she ordered a fish filet sandwich that allegedly contained a bone.

Shabangu claims she became very ill after consuming the fish bone and now seeks to hold Burger King liable for her injuries. She is suing for breach of warranty, alleging the sandwich was not fit for human consumption.

Shabangu is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented by the Leaders Law Center in Chicago.
