Allstate Insurance Co., as subrogee of Jayme Romack, filed a lawsuit Nov. 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Aloha Construction Inc.

According to Allstate, Aloha was performing work on the roof of Romack's house on West Warner Avenue in Chicago when some of Romack's property was damaged.

Allstate claims Aloha left part of the roof open while performing the work. Aloha allegedly failed to cover certain open parts of the roof with a tarp, and as a result, water entered the opening in the roof and damaged Romack's property.

The insurance company now seeks to recover the money it paid out to Romack over the property damage.

Allstate is seeking $48,057.82 in damages and is being represented by Chicago attorney Brad Krapfl.
