Man sues after being attacked by dogs

Scales1

A man is suing over claims he was seriously injured after being attacked and bitten by a number of dogs.

Nikita Hampton filed a lawsuit Nov. 20 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Walter Fields and PP NT 1 LLC, doing business as Pangea Real Estate Holdings, citing negligence and the Animal Control Act.

According to the suit, Hampton sustained serious injuries on Aug. 31, when Field's dogs attacked and bit him while he was walking in the alley directly behind the defendant's property at 1224 S. Troy St. in Chicago.

The defendant, the suit alleges, was negligent in that he failed to restrain the dogs, allowed his dogs to roam, failed to maintain control over his dogs and negligently allowed the dogs to stay in the yard with a fence they could escape.

The complaint further alleges that Pangea Real Estate Holdings was negligent for failing to erect and maintain proper fencing, as well as allowing Fields to keep a number of pit bulls on the property.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $30,000. He is being represented by Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC.
