A woman is suing over claims her daughter was hit by a car while on the sidewalk.
Aretha Ward, individually and as mother and next friend of minor Christina Smith, filed a lawsuit Nov. 27 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Tinea Anderson, citing negligence and the Family Expense Act.
The plaintiff says on March 17, 2012, Christina sustained serious injuries while riding her bicycle along the sidewalk of 85th Street when the defendant's car struck the minor.
She claims the defendant negligently operated her vehicle, failed to exercise due care, failed to give pedestrians a warning, failed to yield and failed to keep a lookout.
The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. She is being represented by Polansky & Cichon Chtd.
