Mother suing after dog attacks son

A woman is suing over claims her son was attacked by a dog.

Miguel Lopez Jr., through his mother and next of friend Irma Lozano, filed a lawsuit Dec. 6 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Jessica Peters, citing the Animal Control Act and Family Expense Act.

According to the complaint, Miguel sustained serious injuries on June 13, when the defendant's dog attacked him while he was walking on the south side sidewalk on Kildare Avenue between 48th and 49th streets in Chicago.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented by Guy Delson Geleerd Jr. of Chaet Geleerd LLP.
