Jessica McCloud and a minor are suing CG Realty Group LTD. and 3451 Harding LLC in the Cook County Circuit Court under a premises liability theory.
According to the complaint filed on Oct. 29, the minor lived with McCloud in an apartment at 3451 N. Harding Ave. in Chicago from 2007 to 2011. McCloud claims the apartment she rented from the defendants was covered in lead based paint and plaster, which was harmful to the minor.
The plaintiffs allege that the defendants violated multiple sections of the Chicago City Code by failing to provide a safe apartment.
They are seeking more than $50,000 and are represented by attorney Bradley A. Skafish.
