Renaissance at Hillside sued over violations of the Nursing Home Care Act

A nursing home is facing suit over claims they violated the Nursing Home Care Act.

Pamela Preacely, as special administrator of the Estate of Dorothy Beene, deceased, filed a lawsuit Dec. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Aria Post Acute Care, The Renaissance at Hillside Inc. and The Renaissance at Hillside, citing violations of the Nursing Home Care Act.

Preacely states Beene was a resident at The Renaissance at Hillside beginning Sept. 18, 2012. According to the complaint, while Beene was a resident she suffered from injury, including the development and deterioration of a decubitis ulcer. The defendants failed to properly care for Beene, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC.
