The Little City Foundation is being sued over a trip and fall incident.

Valerie Buck, by her guardian and next friend, Jacqueline Buck-Sutton, filed a lawsuit Dec. 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Little City Foundation, citing negligence and premise liability.

The complaint states Valerie Buck was an invited guest of the defendant at 144 Hastings Mill Road in Streamwood on Dec. 30, 2011, when she tripped and fell while attempting to exit the premises through the front door.

Buck claims the defendant committed numerous negligent acts, including permitting the carpeting on the step to become torn and loose, failing to inspect the carpeting and the condition of the step and permitting the wooden base of the step to deteriorate.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by The Law Offices of Daniel M. Breen PC.
