A Metra employee is suing over claims he slipped and fell while working.
Lawrence Busking filed a lawsuit Dec. 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp., doing business as Metra.
According to the complaint, Busking was employed by Metra as a conductor on the Rock Island District and was working on Dec. 30, 2010 at the 123rd Street Station, where he was required to flag the crossing for the funeral of a fireman.
He claims he was required to walk on the tracks to secure the crossing for the funeral, and slipped and fell due to slippery conditions on the crossing, causing an ankle injury.
Busking is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit and is being represented in the case by attorney William J. McMahon of Hoey & Farina.
