Cab company sued after taxi crashes into tavern

An insurance company is suing a cab company after a taxi crashed into a Chicago tavern.

Badger Mutual Insurance Company, as subrogee of Southmont Inc., doing business as Schubas Tavern, filed a lawsuit Aug. 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against LFT Cab Corporation, doing business as Ace Cab Association Inc., and Fobrin Ogunfowokan.

According to the complaint, Ogunfowokan was operating an Ace cab on May 3, 2012, when he attempted a U-turn, collided with another car and crashed into the premises of Schubas. Both Ogunfowokan and Ace Cab Association are being accused of negligence.

Badger Mutual is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented in the case by attorneys Robert Ostojic and Jonathan M. Heilman of Leahy, Eisenberg & Fraenkel Ltd.
