Lutheran Child and Family Services sued for child abuse of employee

A woman is suing Lutheran Child and Family Services, alleging that an employee sexually abused her when she was 13 years old.

Laterrica Wilson filed a lawsuit Dec. 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois, Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illionois Foundation and Alphonso Chandler, also known as Alfonso Chandler, citing childhood sexual abuse, negligent supervision and negligence arising from voluntary undertaking.

According to the complaint, Wilson was born on May 27, 1987, and at all material times was a ward of the state of Illinois under the age of 13 years old. The complaint alleges she was sexually abused at the age of 13, while a ward of the state and resident at the facilities of the defendants in Addison. The complaint further states Alphonso Chandler was an employee of Lutheran Corporations and forced Wilson and another resident to engage in sexual relations with him while he was working for the defendants.

Wilson is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented in the case by Donald L. Jonson, Julie A. Boynton and John C. Dax.
