Residential Investments LLC sued by woman who claims she fell on glass

A woman is suing over claims she fell on broken glass while going down the stairs.

Melinda Collins filed a lawsuit Nov. 6 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Residential Investments LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Gollins sustained serious injuries on Dec. 23, 2011, when broken glass caused her to trip and fall on stairs while at the defendant's premises at 1412 State Line Road in Calumet City.

She claims the defendant negligently caused the premises to become and remain in an unsafe condition by having glass on the stairs.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. She is being represented by Benjamin & Shapiro Ltd.
