Mckenna

A woman is suing over claims her primary care physician failed to diagnose breast cancer.

Edwina Harrison filed a lawsuit Dec. 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Yomi Adeyemi, also known as Abayomi Adeyemi and doing business as Yomi Adeyemi M.D. S.C., and Chatham Physicians Group S.C.

Ingalls Memorial Hospital and Dr. Grace Lee were named respondents in discovery.

According to the complaint, Harrison was diagnosed with breast cancer on Jan. 17, 2012. She claims Adeyemi, her primary care physician and an employee of Chatham Physicians Group S.C., failed to order yearly mammograms as is standard for primary care physicians to women older than 40 years old.

Harrison is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Mark R. McKenna of Hurley, McKenna & Mertz.
