Scales3

A woman is suing over claims she fell on ice and sustained serious injuries.

Inetha Chism filed a lawsuit Nov. 12 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against Congress 2007 Apartments LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Chism was injured on March 1, when she slipped and fell on an uneven sidewalk with an unnatural accumulation of ice at the defendant's apartment complex on West Congress Parkway in Chicago.

She claims the defendant negligently caused the premises to become and remain in an unsafe condition by allowing the uneven surface and ice accumulation, as well as by failing to remove the dangerous condition, warn of the danger and inspect the premises.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum, plus costs, and is being represented by Dean J. Caras.
