Kimberly Stern filed suit Dec. 4 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Lauren Marion and Manuel Escarayan.
According to the complaint, Stern she was admitted to Northwestern Hospital on Oct. 30, 2012 for total knee arthoplasty. She claims that on the second day after her surgery, she needed to get out of bed and Escarayan assisted her in getting into her wheelchair.
While Escarayan was helping her, Stern claims he dropped her on the ground, causing her to fracture her left femur.
Stern is suing for negligence, past and future pain and suffering and more than $50,000. She is being represented by attorney Mathew R. Basinger.
