Father sues LA Fitness over claims metal fell on his son

Earnes

Travis Moore, individually and as the father of his minor son, and his son filed suit Nov. 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 25 against Fitness International LLC, doing business as LA Fitness.

According to the complaint, Moore's son was injured while being watched at the LA Fitness' daycare center.

Moore contends he dropped his son off at the LA Fitness Kids Klub at 11520 S. Marshfield Ave. in Chicago in May, when another child kicked a ball which struck the ceiling and caused a large piece of metal to fall on his head's head and body.

The plaintiffs are suing LA Fitness for negligence, alleging it failed to provide a safe environment for the children to be watched.

They are seeking more than $50,000 in damages and are being represented by attorney Brent R. Eames.
