Adventist Hospital sued for medical malpractice

Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and doctors are being sued for allegedly committing medical malpractice.

Jodi Lombard, as special administrator of the Estate of Mckenzie Lombard-Ryce, filed a medical malpractice lawsuit Aug. 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Adventist Health System Sunbelt Healthcare Corp., Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, Adventist Health Partners Inc., Adventist Health Network, DuPage Neonatology Associates SC, and Drs. Evangelia Zikos, Helen Fromme, Aisha Jameel and Byron Johnson.

The complaint states from July 27, 2011 until Aug. 6, 2011, Lombard-Ryce was under the care of the defendants after she was born via emergency cesarean section.

Lombard claims the defendants acted negligently, which caused Lombard-Ryce's death on Aug. 13, 2011.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by John J. MacInerney of Hofeld and Schaffner.
