Amtrak sued by employee over alleged injuries

A woman is suing Amtrak over claims she was injured while working onboard a train.

Kathleen Domagalski filed a lawsuit Dec. 4 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the National Rail Road Passenger Corp., also known as Amtrak, citing negligence.

Domagalski claims she was employed by the defendant and that she sustained severe and permanent injuries while working on a train on Aug. 1, 2012, when she attempted to lift, carry and move mattresses and other large and heavy objects.

She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Peter F. Higgins of Lipkin & Higgins.
