Woman sues hospital, doctor over allegedly botched hysterectomy

Inna Chizhevsky filed suit Nov. 26 in the Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 26 against Skokie Hospital, Northshore University HealthSystem, doing business as Skokie Hospital Chams Women's Health Care S.C., and Dr. Joyce Chams.

According to the complaint, Chizhevesky was admitted to the defendant hospital on May 2, 2012 to undergo a hysterectomy performed by Chams and during the course of the procedure, had both of her ureters severed.

Chizhevesky is suing the defendants for medical malpractice, alleging the standard of care with which her hysterectomy was performed fell below the requisite standard.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by Goldstein, Fluxgold and Baron P.C.
