Doctors sued by woman who claims surgery resulted in further injury

A woman is suing over claims surgery resulted in increased dysfunction to her foot.

Anastasia Velisaris filed a lawsuit Oct. 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Drs. Peter G. Chioros and Armen Kelikian, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Velisaris underwent podiatric surgery on her right foot, wich was performed by Chioros, on Oct. 12, 2011 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

She claims she experienced increased pain, deformity and dysfunction in her right foot after the surgery. Velisaris is accusing the defendants of negligently removing the right second metatarsal head, failing to provide reasonable nonoperative care for her symptoms and negligently performing the surgery to repair her right foot.

Velisaris is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Theodore C. Jennings of the McNabola Law Group P.C.
