A snow removal company is suing an unknown individual over a Craigslist post that linked to an online docket showing all of the lawsuits against it.
Snow Systems Inc. filed a defamation lawsuit Jan. 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the individual, only referred to as John Doe in the complaint.
According to the suit, the unknown individual on Nov. 28 posted on Craigslist, warning potential customers of "Snow Systems (Wheeling)" and linking to the court's online docket displaying all of the lawsuits involving the company for more than 22 years.
Snow Systems asserts in its suit the post casts a bad light on it and imputes an inability of its business practices.
The company is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Dean J. Lurie of Stone, Pogrund & Korey.
