The guardian of a man is suing over claims he was injured while working a job at a Chicago elementary school.

Cynthia Sosnowski, a court appointed guardian of Robert Woods, filed a lawsuit Feb. 7 in the Cook County District Court against Blinderman Construction Co., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the defendant subcontracted work from JM Polcurr Inc., Woods' employer, to perform certain duties at Sauganash Elementary School, 6040 N. Kilpatrick Ave. in Chicago.

Sosnowski claims Woods fell from a ladder on July 19, 2011 while working at the site, resulting in serious injury and disablement.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional minimum, as well as court costs, and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Timothy R. Ocasek of Cooney & Conway.
