A man diagnosed with mesothelioma is suing over claims his disease was caused by being exposed to asbestos-related products.

Daniel Borza III filed a lawsuit Jan. 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterton Co., Union Carbide Corp. and dozens of other companies.

According to the complaint, Borza was employed in various capacities, including electrician and home remodeler, from 1959 to 1979, during which time he was exposed to asbestos manufactured, marketed and sold by the defendant companies.

Borza says he was diagnosed with mesothelioma on Oct. 17.

He is being represented in the case by attorney Michael T. Egan of Cooney & Conway.
