A man is suing Goodyear and a number of other businesses over claims a faulty tire caused a motorcycle crash that left him injured.

Gonzalo Gomez filed a lawsuit March 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Who's Mama Joe Mama HD Cycle Repair, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America Ltd., Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe B.V, TBC Corp., TBC-Tire & Battery Corp., Treadways Corp., Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. and Sumitomo Corp.

Gomez contends he was operating his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Interstate 90 in Elk Grove Village on March 17, 2012, when the rear tire lost pressure, causing the crash.

According to the suit, the Who's Mama repair shop installed a Dunlop rear tire on his motorcycle approximately one week before the incident. He accuses Dunlop of making a faulty tire and Who's Mama of failing to properly install it or picking the wrong tire .

The suit includes counts alleging negligence, strict products liability, negligent design and breach of warranty.

Gomez is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits and is being represented in the case by attorney Matthew M. Rundio of Cavanagh Law Group.
