Mayfield Care Center named in negligence suit

A man's estate is suing a Chicago nursing home, claiming its negligence led to a facial fracture and the deterioration of his health.

Robert Brim Jr., as independent administrator of the Estate of Robert Brim Sr., filed a lawsuit March 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Mayfield Care Center Inc., doing business as Mayfield Care Center, citing negligence

According to the complaint, Brim Sr. was a resident of the defendant's facility at 5905 W. Washington Blvd. in Chicago. The complaint alleges the negligence of the nursing home caused Brim Sr. to fall, resulting in injuries, including a facial fracture, and caused his health to deteriorate.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, attorney's fees and court costs. He is being represented by Chicago attorney Marc S. Weissman of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman.
