A dump truck driver and a Chicago construction company are facing a lawsuit over the death of a bicyclist.

Melissa Foley, as independent administrator of the Estate of Leanid Belabarody, filed a lawsuit March 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Danny Darling and Bridges Excavating Inc., citing the state's wrongful death and survival acts.

The complaint states Belabarody was riding his bicycle in the westbound bicycle lane on Augusta Boulevard near the Ashland Avenue intersection in Chicago on Oct. 31, 2012, when Darling was driving a dump truck while working for Bridges Excavating.

Foley claims Darling's vehicle collided with and ran over Belabarody, which caused or contributed to his Oct. 31, 2012 death.

She is seeking more than $100,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Sharon A. Kobrin of Munday & Nathan.
