A Des Plaines nursing home is being sued over a resident's multiple falls.

Tana Clifton, as attorney-in fact for Dean Clifton, filed a lawsuit April 3 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Presence RHC Senior Services, doing business as Presence Ballard Rehabilitation, and Presence RHC Corp., citing the negligence and the state's Nursing Home Care Act.

The complaint states Dean Clifton was a resident at Presence Ballard Rehabilitation from May 17 until Aug. 26. While a resident there, the suit alleges, he fell on three different occasions and was hospitalized on Aug. 26 with a large laceration and vertebrae fracture.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by Susan L. Novosad and Erin M. Mayer of Levin & Perconti.
