Blue line derailment results in another suit against CTA

Cta

The city's transit authority is facing another lawsuit over the March blue line derailment at the O'Hare Airport station.

Yolanda Montes filed a lawsuit April 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Transit Authority, citing negligence.

Montes claims she was injured on March 24 while riding the Blue Line train to the O'Hare Airport station, where it jumped the tracks. The suit alleges the defendant failed to operate its rail system safely, causing the train to derail and severe injuries to Montes.

Montes is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Christopher M. Norem of Parente & Norem P.C.
