Slip and fall on alleged icy sidewalk results in negligene complaint

Friedman

A Cook County man is facing a lawsuit alleging his failure to maintain a sidewalk resulted in a woman's slip and fall.

Michelle Blackwell filed a lawsuit May 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Ibrahim Mohammed, citing negligence.

Blackwell claims she suffered injuries on March 3, 2013 after falling on the sidewalk at the Mohammed's property on South Vincennes Avenue. The suit alleges he failed to maintain the sidewalk at the rear entranceway of his property, allowing an unnatural accumulation of ice to build up.

She is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional limits and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Mitchell B. Friedman of Morici, Figlioli &  Associates.
