Worker's slip on a puddle results in suit

A Cook County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries after slipping in a puddle while working.

Nickolas Diorio filed a lawsuit May 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against 1651 Mitchell Building LLC, citing negligence.

Diorio claims he suffered injuries on June 11, 2012, when he slipped and fell on an accumulation of water while working at the defendant's building at 1651 Mitchell Blvd. in Schaumburg.

According to the suit, the defendant failed to maintain the roof of the building to prevent the leak from occurring, which resulted in Diorio falling and injuring his shoulder, ribs and head.

Diorio is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys at the Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder LLC.
