A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured when his bike became stuck in a pothole on a city-owned trail.

Isaac Cohen filed a lawsuit May 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Cohen was riding his bike on Lakefront Trail between the Shedd Aquarium and South Lakeshore Drive on July 7, when his bike caught on a pothole, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain injury.

He accuses the defendants of being aware of the danger as early as June 10, but failing to warn the public of the danger on the trail.

Cohen is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Ryan T. McNulty of Schiff Gorman LLC.
