Trip and fall over carpet leads to lawsuit against realty group

A Cook County resident is suing over claims he sustained injuries after falling down the stairs at his apartment building.

Jeffery Gregg filed a lawsuit May 5 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Novo Realty Group LLC and 7950 Exchange LLC, citing negligence.

According to the suit, Gregg fell down the stairs in the common area of the apartment building he lived in at 7952 S. Exchange St. in Chicago. He claims the defendant failed to maintain the stairs and hallway in the apartment and left the carpeting on the stairs torn and loose, which the suit alleges resulted in Gregg tripping and falling.

He alleges he suffered injuries to his head, body, mind, limbs and nervous system, requiring medical attention.

Gregg is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and court costs. He is being represented by Chicago attorney Donald W. Jaburek Jr. of Pope & Jaburek P.C.
