Pawsitively Heaven Pet Resort faces suit over alleged dog bite

A man is suing a so-called pet resort in Chicago Ridge over allegatios he was bit by a dog while picking up his own pup.

Timothy Sliter filed a lawsuit May 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Guy and Beverly Larsen and Pawsitively Heaven Pet Resort Inc., citing violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

According to the complaint, the Larsens brought their Weimaraner, which had previously failed a temperament test, to the pet resort to pick up one of their dogs on June 12, 2012, when the dog bit Sliter on the arm.

Sliter accuses the defendants of negligence and strict liability under the Illinois Animal Control Act.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Don M. Sowers of Motherway & Napleton LLP.

Pawsitively Heaven Pet Resort Inc. provides pet boarding, daycare, grooming, training and veterinary rehabilitation, among other services.
