Former laborer alleges exposure to asbestos caused mesothelioma

Adair

A man is suing over claims his mesothelioma was caused by asbestos-containing products made and sold by dozens of companies.

George A. Mehok filed a lawsuit June 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against General Electric Co., Henry Pratt Co., Kellogg Co. and dozens of others.

According to the complaint, Mehok was exposed to asbestos-containing products designed, manufactured, marketed and sold by the defendant companies through his occupation as a laborer in various capacities and through non-occupational projects.

Mehok claims he was diagnosed with mesothelioma on March 6, as a result of the alleged asbestos exposure.

He is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit, plus costs, and is being represented in the case by attorney Matthew J. Adair of Cooney & Conway.
