A woman is suing a condo association, property manager and a company that sells and ships swans, claiming she was injured after a mute swan attacked her in Glenview.

Diana Kontos filed a lawsuit May 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Knox Swan & Dog LLC, Hillcrest Property Management and Princeton Club Condominium Association, alleging premises liability, negligence and violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

The lawsuit states Kontos was walking in the Princeton Club condo subdivision in Glenview on May 19, 2013, when she was attacked by one of the mute swans Knox Swan & Dog placed on a pond, causing her to fall and sustain severe injuries

According to Know Swan & Dog's website, it sells and ships mute swans nationwide and "specializes in properties with with Canada goose problems in the Chicagoland area."

The site states, "We use Border Collies and Mute Swans, individually or matched up in different packages, to 'chase away' Canada geese, keeping your lawns and landscapes clean and inviting."

Kontos is suing for damages in excess of jurisdictional limits, plus court costs, and is being represented by Brian W. Coffman Esq. of Coffman Law Offices P.C.
