A Cook County man is suing a real estate company and others over claims ceiling tiles in his apartment fell on his head.

Tomica Hill-Christmas filed a lawsuit May 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Estate of Dale Irving, Darian K. Irving, and Berger Popielec & Popielec Inc., doing business as McKey & Poague Real Estate Services Inc., also known as McKey & Poague.

According to the premises liability complaint, Hill-Christmas was in the bathroom of an apartment owned by the defendants on South Ingleside Avenue in Chicago on May 18, 2012, when broken ceiling tiles fell on his head.

He accuses the defendants of being negligent in maintaining the premises and is seeking damages. He is being represented in the case by attorney Alan H. Bender of Goldstein, Bender & Romanoff.
