Drywall company seeks to recoup $107K for allegedly unpaid work

Scales

A drywall company is suing a construction business over allegedly unpaid work.

R & A Drywall Inc. filed a lawsuit May 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Richland Construction and Development Inc., citing breach of contract.

The lawsuit states Richland Construction requested drywall work in May 2010 for residential units being constructed at 231 W. 18th St. in Chicago for an agreed price of $145,000.

The plaintiff claims the work was completed and the construction company only paid it $38,000, leaving an unpaid balance of $107,000.

R & A Drywall Inc. is suing for that amount, as well attorney’s fees, pre-judgment interest and court costs. It is being represented by John M. Galich.
