A slippery floor at a medical center allegedly caused injuries that has led to the filing of a lawsuit.

Ruth King filed suit May 27 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Mercy Hospital & Medical Center.

According to the complaint, King was at the defendant's facility at 2525 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago on Aug. 28, 2012, when she fell on the floors that he claims were extra slippery because they had recently been waxed.

King, who claims she suffered significant injuries in the fall, accuses the defendant of negligently creating dangerous premises and failing to warn of the hazardous condition.

SHe is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by attorney Craig M. Sandberg of Muslin & Sandberg.
