A woman is suing the owner of a boat she was on, claiming he served her alcohol even though she was underage and failed to warn her about the dangers of diving into shallow areas of the Kankakee River.

Tiffani Ntanos filed a lawsuit June 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Kevin Miller, alleging negligence.

According to the suit, Ntanos was aboard Miller's motorboat on the Kankakee River on June 9, 2012, when the defendant served Ntanos, who was known to be underage at the time, alcohol until she became intoxicated.

She claims she then jumped off the boat and hit her head on a submerged object.

Ntanso accuses Miller of supplying her, a minor, with alcohol and failing to warn his passengers about the dangers of diving into the river.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney David R. Butzen of Ambrose & Associates P.C.
