A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured on a loading dock while working as a forklift operator for Frito-Lay.

Thomas A. Hiemer filed a lawsuit May 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against W.E. Carlson Corp., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the defendant had a duty to maintain and control a certain loading dock plate at Frito-Lay on Bulldog Drive in the City of Summit. Hiemer claims he was operating a forklift for Frito-Lay on Dec. 3, 2012, when the loading dock plate fell from its position in a truck, causing his forklift to fall in the gap between the truck and the dock.

W.E. Carlson distributes loading dock equipment, among other products, its website states.

Hiemer is seeking damages and is being represented by attorney D. Jeffrey Comeau of O'Connor & Nakos Ltd.
