Customer's trip over rolled up rug spurs suit against Chi Tung Restaurant

A customer of an Evergreen Park restaurant is suing over claims she tripped over a rolled up rug and sustained injuries.

Sharon Clement filed a lawsuit May 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Chi Tung Restaurant Inc., alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Clement dined at Chi Tung Restaurant on South Kedzie Avenue on July 22, when she tripped over a rolled up rug after turning a corner to enter the restroom.

Clement accuses Chi Tung Restaurant of failing to provide a safe premises for customers or warn of the danger.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney David E. Gilbreth of Costello, McMahon, Burke & Murphy Ltd.
