Kmart hit with suit over alleged slip on soda

A woman is suing over claims she was injured after slipping on spilled soda at a Chicago Kmart.

Veronica Luna filed a lawsuit June 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Kmart Kedzie 3594 LLC.

According to the complaint, Luna was at the Kmart on South Kedzie Avenue in Chicago on June 15, 2012, when she walked toward the bathroom, slipped on spilled fountain soda and sustained injuries. She accuses Kmart of negligence.

Luna is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Brenton M. Schmitz of Law Offices of James P. McHargue in Chicago.
