Macy's shopper alleges injury after sign fell on her

A woman is suing over claims she was injured when a sign fell on her at a Macy's store in Northbrook.

Roberta Selnick filed a lawsuit June 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Marshall Field's Chicago Inc., Macy's Retail Holdings Inc. and Macy's, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Selnick was at the Macy's in Northbrook on June 15, 2012, when an unsecured Plexiglas sign on a display table fell on her. She accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition for customers.

Selnick is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Nemeroff Law Offices Ltd. in Chicago.
