An Elmhurst health and rehab center is being sued by a former resident who claims he developed infected sores that required the amputation of some of his toes.

Angelo Griseta filed a lawsuit June 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Elmbrook Nursing LLC, doing business as Elm Brook Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre, alleging medical malpractice.

According to the suit, Griseta was a resident of the defendant's facility at 127 W. Diversey Ave. in Elmhurst from May 1, 2012 until July 17, 2012.

Griseta claims the defendant negligently monitored and cared for him, which resulted in the infection and necrosis on the second and third toes of his right foot and the July 21, 2012 amputation of the affected toes.

Griseta is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented by Chicago attorneys Stephanie K. Nathanson and Michael T. Peterson of Law Offices of Stephanie K. Nathanson.
