A man is suing over claims the negligence of a Brookfield nursing home led him to fall and sustain injuries.

Manuel Vasquez filed a lawsuit June 10 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Cantata Ventures Holdings LLC, doing business as Cantata Adult Life and Senior Care Services, also known as The British Home for Retired Men and Women, The British Home Foundation, Cantata Business Performance Services LLC, Cantata at Home and Cantata Best Life Foundation.

According to the suit, Vasquez lived in and received care at the defendant's facility at 8700 W. 31st St. in Brookfield on May 26. He claims even though he was at high risk for falls, the defendant failed to assist him in moving around, properly monitor him and supervise its employees, which resulted in him falling and injuring himself.

Vasquez is seeking damages in excess of $30,000, as well as court costs and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Dicker & Dicker in Chicago
